Swimming with Dolphins?

We were looking forward to swimming with dolphins when the ship stopped at Picton.

But the provider we booked with just emailed that they won't run that particular "in the water" version, because they'll be short a boat.

And the "watch the dolphins" version includes a land hike,  which I can't do for mobility reasons.

We'll be at several NZ ports before stopping at Hobart.

Suggestions?

Many thanks!

I suggest you look for a different activity, as New Zealand recently banned swimming with dolphins due to its detrimental effect on the animals:

So happy to see positive actions like this to ban animal interactions billed as eco tourism. Sadly, as this article clearly indicates, even when those activities take place in the "natural environment" there can be detrimental impact. It does appear that they have not entirely banned the activity, but limited the timeframes.

GC, I hope you'll reconsider.

My daughter and I have booked an excursion out of Picton on Wednesday 20 November, 2019.   It is a 3 hour boat trip called "3 hour Marlborough Sounds Delivery Cruise".  We booked using Viator.  It leaves Picton at 10am and returns at 1.30pm.  Check it out.
