If its coming from the bathroom, be sure to pour water in the drain of the shower.

Not the shower drain, as this gets water regularly to replenish the trap.  There is a floor drain in the bathroom, outside the shower, that will either be a "gutter" type at the door, or a round drain typically hidden under the toilet, that does not see water unless you overflow the shower, so this can dry out and cause the smells to back up.  A glass of water every other day will take care of this. Smells outside the cabins are caused by other drains around the ship that don't see water regularly (linen lockers, electrical lockers, etc) having their drain traps dry out.  Report it to the staff, and they will track the culprit down and put some water down it.

The Sunrise was supposed to have this really bad smell I read.

I did pass an area on the ship where there was a bad odor, It was always by the same cabin....

Whoever was in that cabin enjoyed the Burrito's and Burgers a little to much I think. 🙂

Was always a big pile of Room Service leftovers out there as well!

The smell is not always ship related no matter what ship it is.

Those are my thoughts on this stinky subject.

While never on Magic (will be in January) I have encountered some sewage smells on other ships.  They come and go in different areas.  Never made me want to gag, though - lol. These smells are not just on CCL.  On our August NCL cruise we went through "pockets" of smell in various areas of the ship.
