We shall be sailing on the Silver Muse 21 -28 Oct 2019 from Japan to China.

We are two English couples who are into Rugby Union and hopeful that England will progress to the quarter-final stages of the Rugby World Cup (if not further).

(I know that this event is probably not such a big deal for US pax (though if the US got through to the quarters with the UK we would be very pleased, because it would mean the French are out!:classic_rolleyes:).

Is Silversea good about televising important sporting events?

Where would be a good place to watch the matches (if available)?

Until this year, the short answer to your question would have been no as SS was not good about televising most important sporting events.  The reason for the highlighting is because they have been known to set up a television for the finals of the "Soccer" World Cup before, although it certainly is not anything coordinated fleet wide.  I've also heard on one rare occasion that SS set up a television for a Superbowl broadcast at the insistence of a large American group on board one of their ships at the time.

However, at the beginning of 2019 SS added Sport 24 to their channel lineup.  As such, in a late February, 2019 press release, SS specifically noted that the Rugby World Cup would be available for viewing by guests.

Enjoy your voyage and good luck to your team!

Not brilliant.  The Champions League final was unobtainable on the Wind this year with a very British passenger list.

Actually. You might be lucky on the Spirit. Four years ago OH reminds me we were able to persuade the CD to show some games in the card room.

We had a TV and coffee and pastries set up in the Bar this year when cruising in the Far East so we could watch the Super Bowl, organised by the HD and CD at the request of guests.  Would suggest it is worth asking when you get on board but may be dependant on the time it is on and what else is happening on the ship. The Super Bowl was about 7am local time and all it coincided with was the daily officers meeting that is held in Bar.
