Kiwi_cruiser Posted September 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2019 We have never been to Esperance, Western Australia before. I was wondering would you recommend doing here for the day?? If you have been to Esperance before, what did you do there for the day?? Also does the cruise ships dock near the city? or do we dock a long way from it? Any ideas / suggestions are very welcome 🙂
BBWC Posted September 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2019 Would highly recommend an excursion to Cape Le Grand National Park. Absolutely beautiful.
Kiwi_cruiser Posted October 3, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted October 3, 2019 BBWC - Did you do that as a ships tour or by your self??
BBWC Posted October 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2019 It was a ship tour, but we were sailing on Regent, where tours are included in the fare. It would probably be possible to find a company that does that excursion (we also visited the rebuilt Stonehenge, quite interesting).
bcummin Posted October 6, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2019 (edited) Last January we took a shuttle bus from the dock to the city waterfront. A tent was set up with tourist information. The nearby local museum was interesting, and we walked around for a while. In the afternoon we took a Holland America ship's tour to Twilight Beach, which was lovely. Rare MMDown Under Posted October 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2019 Agee Cape La Grand National Park is a must. Depending how long you are in port, I'd hire a car. What time of the year will you be visiting? Wildflower season is spectacular. When we camped there, there were kangaroos on the beach. It is one of Australia's special places! Kiwi_cruiser Posted December 18, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted December 18, 2019 Thank You everyone for your information and replays, very helpfully 😊 We did not get ashore till 12 noon as the tender service was so slow on Cunard 😞 , so we just walked around the town had some food & drink and went to the bank to sort out a issuge we had.
