Celebrity disembarkation advice please.

We have a concierge cabin this time and have a fairly tight time-line to meet our privately organised tour at our first port of call. Problem is this port is tendered. We know with concierge there is priority embarkation at ports and Celebrity have vaguely said this applies to disembarkation in port as well.
Is this actually the case?  How does it work? Would there be a separate exit?

when tendering, preference is given to those who have booked tours / excursions through Celebrity - so there may be a wait.

Usually they give out 'tender tickets' at cellar masters from 7:30am or something and the earlier you get there and get one of the first tender tickets the earlier they will call your number (on the tender ticket)

We were in Concierge when we were on the Solstice last year. We, too, were concerned about whether we would be able to get off on time to join a private tour at a tendered port. We spoke to a member of the concierge team about it and she organised tender tickets for us, enabling us to get off with the first group of tendered passengers.

Elite and higher status get priority as do suites. Tours booked through the cruiseline do as well. CC class does not. Tender tickets are passed out but you very likely will not get on one of the first tenders as they will line the booked tours up and the early tenders go after this process. They are led out in a group ahead of tender #s.  Also CC class gets priority embarking .. not at ports of call , just when you initially check in. Bets to change the time of your private tour

Which port?  Some ports have very long waits for tenders, others have a very much quicker tendering process.  It would help to know which port you are concerned about.

 

In general though, Concierge Class does not get priority on tendering.  As stated, Celebrity tours go first, Suites and then Elites probably could go next, then other passengers.  Bourdieu's experience is not the norm.

Just off the Connie two days ago. We are a mixed group of elites and regular Captain club cruisers... no one had a suite. The night before our tender port, those who were elite cruisers and their cabin mates received priority tender tickets in their stateroom. We were to report to the Rendevous lounge at 7 Am to be escorted off the ship directly to the first tender available. Our friends who were not elite had to report to the area on 5 where the  shops are  located. They were there at 7 AM and also got tickets for the first tender. They went directly to the tender and we were the only ones in the Rendevous so they escorted us down and to the head of the line.

we all ended up in the first tender, whichputus at the dock one hour early.

No priority tender for CC. If you want to be in the first group leaving the ship you will need to get in line early for your tender tickets. Everyone you got tender tickets for needs to be in the waiting area ready to board the tender when your number is called.

We also often will receive priority tender tickets in our stateroom the night before a tender port,  but it is not always done the same way consistently.

 

On some cruises we are just told to meet with the captain's club host/ess at a certain place and time to be escorted off together as a group.

 

We have heard that some passengers who have an early private tour and no tender priority will purchase the ship's shore excursion tickets for the cheapest early excursion they can find  (with no intention of taking it) just to get the tender priority.

 

Then on the opposite end of the spectrum, there are those who receive priority tender tickets but don't use them.

That’s how it was just done on the Summit, and in one of the ports at least, the meeting time was a good hour or so after the first tender.  Not much help if you had an early private tour or just wanted to DIY earlier.  We were in the former category; I simply went down to the bar where tender tickets were being distributed and easily got them on my own for a much earlier tender than the “priority” group.

They  were lucky...but not a guarantee it would be possible all the time.  So many want to be off early and many cruisers have priority status of one kind or another..all vying for the same tender slots

 

Alot depends on the ship, the port, sea conditions, type of tenders being used.

You could go early & get early tender tix as a back up to any priority you seek unless you have a solid arrangement.

 

Your tour operator should be aware of how it all works...

The way they now work the Elite priority is as others say .. go to a meeting point when you want to get off the ship. The host escorts you to the tender and ….. yes puts you in the front of the line.. So people with tickets for the tender # that is boarding may not get that boat. The last time we did this we did bump people off the tender.

Until a couple of weeks ago, a mock booking on X's website would show that Concierge came with priority disembarkation and tendering at all ports. Now it just lists:
 

• Personalized concierge service
• Priority embarkation

And the last bullet is filler info about the bedding being Cashmere mattresses, blah blah... which is the SAME as the cheapest interior room.

X is really struggling to list anything of value for Concierge anymore. They've stripped it of almost all services.

X is really struggling to list anything of value for Concierge anymore. They've stripped it of almost all services.

 

There are multiple lists of Concierge amenities on the website currently, all conflicting with one another. Celebrity just doesn't seem to know how to keep track of its information and ensure that when a change is made to one web page, all other pages with the same information are also changed.

 

BTW, I just did a dummy booking a few minutes ago and pulled up this list of amenities via the cabin details link. You'll see that the list includes "Priority debarkation & tender service in all ports of call."

That’s the problem with Celebrity, they have too many computers that don’t talk to one another.  If you go to “ on-board experiences then staterooms & choose Concierge Class it gives a more up to date info, you get what Verandah gets plus below.

Yes, that's one of the other pages that I was thinking of, and I've posted it a few time recently. If Celebrity can't sync its information across multiple web pages, it should at a minimum start putting a Date of Information stamp on the page so that people using the website could tell which information is the most current. Here's a fourth list of amenities on the website today:
