restaurant reservations

We are meeting another couple for a Regent cruise next spring.  We want to reserve a table at a specialty restaurant for the four of us.  How do we go about this?  Does one couple do the online reserving and write in that there will be an additional couple?  Or do both couples do this and expect that Regent will discover that it is only one table the four of us need?

Thanks, Susan

From memory, one couple does the reservation. Choose the "share a table" option, then there should be a place where you can enter the other couple's Regent Booking Number.

If in doubt ring Regent and they will clarify or complete the reservation over the phone.

Note that this still counts as the one advance reservation for that restaurant for both couples.

It’s not intuitive but if you want to reserve a table for four, do not indicate that you wish to share a table. To Regent, sharing a table means that Regent will put people together at a table and you will not be able to put in the other couples booking number. So, indicate that you do not want to share a table and the system will then ask if you want to add other people to your reservation and will give you the opportunity to insert their booking number.

I understand that one can reserve a table at each of the specialty restaurants per cruise online prior to the cruise commencing but is that just per 7 days? If we are on a 14 day cruise are we able to book 2 tables at each specialty restaurants online or only if the cruise is in 2 segments?

Just one reservation per restaurant per cruise can be pre-booked before the cruise, unless on a longer multi-segment cruise such as a Grand Voyage or World Cruise.

Once on board you can make additional reservations subject to availability. Just visit or telephone the Dining Reservations desk.

We find the menu in Compass Rose to be so extensive and varied that we tend not to be so bothered about too many speciality restaurant reservations. One or two visits to each per cruise is sufficient for us.

PS: @ClefsDor, as you will be sailing on Splendor, it is probable that Prime 7 and Chartreuse will be open at lunch as well as Dinner (one or other on port days and both on sea days) - no reservations required for lunch and a different, lighter menu.
