Rental Car

Planning to rent a car in Waikiki, Lahaina, and Kailua Kona. We will be overnight in Waikiki. Seems when we were there a few years back, we rented from a company that had a shuttle to pick up the car in Waikiki. Also, any cars available close to where the tenders come in at Lahaina?

One more question, is Volcano Natl Park driveable from Kailua Kona? Thanks

Yes, but it is a VERY long drive there and back using the Saddle Road. You aren't going to Hilo?

Not sure who that would be but we rent from Avis which has a location at the Sheraton on the beach and the International Marketplace mall-- super convenient. There are several other rental car companies that have locations right there in Waikiki as well. You can either rent one way from the airport or you can take an Uber from the airport to the rental location.

From my experience most of the rental cars are located north of Lahaina in Kaanapali. You can Uber or take a taxi up to them. Again, we are Avis loyalists so rent from them (they have a spot on the road near Kapalua Airport) but there are plenty of others.

Thx, was afraid of that. We went the last time there on a cruise. This time will be a cruise as well, but they've dropped Hilo 😞
