I will elaborate, that the towels on D2 were a disgrace, threadbare and holey.Being our 1st Marella cruise we thought it the norm.Since then we realise it was the useless steward, after our 2nd cruise on E1.LOL,I can't believe the MD starting a punchup,I've heard it all now.

Brian there is plenty more but for reasons i won't go into i would rather not mention on here as distress maybe caused to other people who were on the cruise which resulted in us being delayed for over 8 hours getting into port.  As for the Maitre D there was no punch up just shouting about how the diner had eaten there 4 times and every time complained it was just shouting and the Maitre D was escorted from the dinning room . As i have said I would try another ship but not this one again we are all different and have different expectations

No worries,I can imagine how patience can be stretched dealing with certain customers.I contracted with British Gas,and I didn't like the public much at times either. We found E1 very good, especially the choices in the buffet area.Good luck in the future.

Vitalsign. Just reading some old posts on this subject and noticed you are due to travel April 2020. We are on Journey to Arabia 2 so sailing right through troubled area. We have been expecting Marella to cancel or change the itinerary as P&O have but heard nothing yet - have you heard anything?

Hairymcclary - we have heard nothing yet and have been able to book excursions also I did think we might miss Khasab as it's on the straits of Hormuz but having been before and Hubbie hasn't we've booked the Dhow trip which is fantastic and hope we get there

we haven't been advised that after flying in to Dubai we might have to embark the ship 2 hours away as happened when the ship sailed out so keeping fingers crossed

we don't need to apply for visas as we'll get a free visa when we land in Dubai and as we are not flying in to Muscat (as our friends are) don't need to apply for one there either but our friends do If you are flying out of Oman if think you'll need one too

I cruised on Marella Jan 2017 for a week from Dubai visiting Bahrain and Oman and didn't have to get visas before we went Any needed were provided when there and there was no charge

To summarise - obviously Indian visa is required but thereafter you're considered to be passing through and unless you fly back from Oman - no visas are required and not for Aqaba either for those flying back from there

This is according to the websites and questions to google
