If anyone might be able to post photos of a Neptune Suite, that would also be a nice extra.

If you visit halfacts.com, you’ll find lots of Neptune pics.

Just choose the Vista class and don’t be too concerned if they aren’t Noordam.  Neptunes on the Vista class are quite similar.

Hope this helps.

Looking at the redone Crow's Nest, it appears that the Smoking Room with the artificial fireplace was removed and the starboard side of the Crow's Nest was made larger.

Yes, it is opened up more.  Much more like the other Vista ships.

The decor hasn't changed?

I thought some of that would be new (style? colors?).

We'll find out soon enough!

There is still a library and Explorations Cafe in that area. The library is now smaller, about half its former space taken over by Microsoft for the computer classes. At a glance, the shelves have few books than in the past. Many games on the shelves.

Thanks for checking on this. Sounds like the library isn't as good as it was, but isn't as bad as it could be.
Better than nothing, like her sisters have.

Thanks for the photos - we’re joining the Noordam next Sunday, in Honolulu.  Can’t wait!!  This will be our longest cruise to date. We did a 21-day SoAmerica/Antarctica a few years back and loved it.  I may have missed it, but what was the extent (if any) of cabin refurbs?

Do you think that the a la carte offering is free for passengers in Neptune suites or who paid extra for the new Club Orange?

We had the special entree last night (in a Neptune) ... since it’s brand new on the Noordam, there was some confusion by our waiter about who was able to order it but quickly cleared up and yes, it’s available to those in Neptune and PH.

Sorry, just reread...thought you were asking about the special Club Orange entree.  Have never tried to order the a la carts entrees with a posted charge so am not sure but will ask.

Thanks so much for starting this. As Barb would say, only 6 more sleeps till we join in Honolulu!

Re the Crow’s Nest, did they move the excursion desk up there on the Starboard side, and install those interactive tables with the screens? Also, did they install that interactive display at the very front of the Crow’s Nest displaying all those ship stats? Frankly, I hope not, since it ruins the view and diminishes seating.

Paul, no to EXC, tv screens useless tables w/tv’s built in.... the Crow’s Nest lives on as she was, at least for now.  The new windows are wonderful, albeit need to be cleaned as do other areas of the ship post dry-dock but it will all happen in due time.

The door to the Oak Room is still there but haven’t tried to open it to see if it’s still in use.

Thanks so much for all of these photos.

This is our first time on the Noordam, and on HAL more generally, so we have no "comparisons" to make.

But everything looks so beautiful, we are even more eager to "get going" 🙂

Any other public area photos would be terrific, if you have the time/energy/interest.

If anyone might be able to post photos of a Neptune Suite, that would also be a nice extra.

That Crow's Nest looks like a *wonderful* place!

Is there a bar there?  Food?

MANY thanks!

Oh, about that "day of the week" on the elevator floor... the only other place we've seen this was in one of the big hotels in Vancouver,  at Canada Place.

It will be especially helpful for cruises with a bunch of sea days, especially...

(Do all HAL ships have this "handy hint"?)

GC

We stayed at the Pan Pacific Saturday night and yes, they have the day of the week mats in the elevators, too.

We’re in a Neptune (7060) if there’s something specific you want to see or ask about.

That’s wonderful news! We absolutely love hanging out up there, and all that exc stuff considerably diminished the space.

Apparently depends on cabin category but am pretty sure all got the new flat panel interactive tv on the wall, new toilets, beds but not new sofa or chair.  The suites pretty much got everything new.

What was the special entree and how did you like it?  We are also in a Neptune.

Thanks, zelker.  Can’t wait to see her!  Not sure how I feel about the status-y changes they’re making...too much like the airlines and some hotel chains.  Guess that’s the way of the world.  I’m just happy to be back onboard!
