Main Dining Room Bar Service

On Oasis of the Seas during dinner in the Main Dinning Room can drinks like a “Long Island Ice Tea” or a “Strawberry Daiquiri” be purchased and brought to the table?

Yes, speak to your wait staff.  The roving bar staff in the dining room are few and far between since the drink packages have become common.

We do not eat that many meals in mdr, but I would enter mdr with drink of choice then make sure you tell waiter that you will want a drink.

Our assistant waiters have always taken care of alcoholic drink requests.  Sometimes they bring it themselves, sometimes it's delivered by a different waiter that seems to focus on drink fetching.  I will say it takes a little long sometimes so it is always best to bring a drink in if you want it right at the beginning of your meal.

First thing is to tell your waiter or the maître d that you want to speak with the bar server.

 

We always do and he knows to stop at our table each night so we can order our drinks.

Our assistant waiter handled our drinks and we ordered right when we sat down. Our 6-top generally had our beverages by the time the first course was cleared and we typically had time for a 2nd round.

30 mins from order to arrival seems about the norm.  Don't show up empty handed.

Main dining room bar service used to be painfully slow but now it seems the opposite. I’ve experienced excellent service for quite a while.

We always bring our drink of choice with us, because it can take a bit of time to get that 1st drink while in the dining room.

1 night we went in at 8.10 pm and asked for 4 D+ HH drinks.

I gave the bar waiter $4 tip and the 4 glasses of Pinot Grigio turned up in 5 minutes.

DW and I are just off Anthem of the Seas 5 nite Bermuda trip.  We ate in the MDR every nite and our Asst waiter handled all our drinks.  He was on his first contract and he did an excellent job,   We never waited more than 5 minutes for a drink and DW soda was never empty.

On my recent Harmony cruise the mdr bar server was at my table sometimes by the time we were seated. If we needed a drink during our meal, there was never more than a 5 minute wait. Our server’s name was Jennifer and she was excellent. Always called me by name before I ordered or presented my card.

We had MTD but requested the same table/section each night and after the first night, our servers automatically brought drinks to the table when they saw us walk in.  We never went thirsty.

This thread caused me to just order a couple of the "stateroom gift" Bacardi rum & Coke packages! No grat, no wait.
