What does RC do when tropical moisture is headed into the Gulf? 😱

We have a cruise out of Galveston this coming Sunday 10/20, and have seen the reports and projected path of some tropical development.  It’s not expected to be a huge event, but will be likely in our way, leaving the port.  What does RCCL do in these instances?

Should sail on time out of Galveston as we show 10%/20% chance of rain on Sat and Sun. (It has been raining off and on all day today with projected same tomorrow.)  The disturbance is currently deep in Mexico near Bay of Campeche so if it forms and captain sees a potential problem the worst is that he would sail around it and rearrange ports of call dates and/or have to skip a port. Shouldn't affect your cruise enjoyment. On our Liberty sailing in September Galveston was pummeled three days and we had perfect weather the entire week.

Thank you!  We actually cruised on the edge of Tropical Storm Lee several years back. It was rough.  But that was sailing back home. Wasn’t sure how they handled it if you were still in your home port. I’ll follow their guy on Twitter!  Thanks!

There is an app called “Windy” that is very good for tracking and seeing forecasts for tropical storms.
