Rare aring75 Posted October 21, 2019 #26 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Out of 45 cruises, we have had problems with the tap water onboard exactly three times. Once, on the Celebrity Century they took on water at the dock in Skagway, Alaska. That night the water in the dining room smelled like gasoline fumes. Seriously, everyone who had regular tap water complained and when the Head Waiter confirmed the issue, they eventually began to serve bottled water free of charge. Never did find out what happened. The other two cruises (one on Holland America, one on Royal) water came out of the sink in our cabin like this. Both times, we bought bottled water until the issue was corrected (only took a day or so).

When I started cruising no one was drinking bottled water on or off a ship - amazingly we all survived. And what do you think they make the tea, coffee, lemonade, iced tea, soups and all other foods with? Surely you can’t believe that they use bottled water.
Wordell1 Posted October 22, 2019 #33 Share Posted October 22, 2019 I bring 2 or 3 bottled waters on with me. After drinking, I refill them from the bathroom sink and put them back in the fridge to get cold. I just repeat all week.

We fill our cabin kettle with tap water to make tea, coffee and hot chocolate to drink in our cabin.

SRF Posted October 22, 2019 #36 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Technically ALL water is recycled. It evaporates from streams, lake, and oceans. Condenses in the air, comes down as rain. Or it soaks down through the ground and is filtered by the ground. 😄
