This was my first time cruising while being Platinum. I got to my check-in area based on my deck went into the Platinum line, and got ignored when I got to the front. No one was managing the exit of the line and people were going ahead of me from the regular line. Finally I got checked in and handed a boarding card.

After a very chaotic wait inside the cruise terminal where port agents had no clue and no control, it was time to board the Bliss. Seattle needs to not allow people to be checked in until the ships is ready, or have a bigger waiting area. It was ran better in Vancouver, Miami, and New York than Seattle. Plus this was the last sailing, they should have had all the kinks worked out by now.Rant over.

On board!

First thing I did was make Laser Tag reservations, show reservations, and get restaurant reservations fixed. Then I went to Cruisenext to purchase deposits.

I do not care for the buffet, especially on embarkation day. I headed for Taste and Savor for lunch!

Picture with Marliza! Marliza is an assistant Maître 'd. We sailed with her on the Star in December 2017. She is awesome!

A quick note on Marliza:

When I entered the restaurant, they scanned my card, and started taking me to the table. I looked over and saw Marliza's hair and new immediately who it was. I told the seater, one second, and turned to the right towards Marliza. She looked up and saw me! Her face lit up and I gave her a big hug! Susan and I loved the service she gave us on the Star and she got one of our stocking bags on that cruise. She told me she still has it. I love when I run into a staff member who is awesome, provides excellent service, and remembers me from a previous cruise.

She asked where Susan was and I told her I was sailing solo. I texted Susan a picture of Marliza and said Marliza said hi. I asked her where she had gone after the Star and caught up with her. I made it a point to come to her MDR (Savor) for the rest of the week!

I was in a studio on deck 10.

IMG_0432-L.jpg

The bed is slightly wider than a twin but narrower than a full.

Two slider closets with shelves at the bottom.

It was perfect size for one person. I did wish there were a few more shelves. My room steward gladly removed the specialty waters and I asked for an ice bucket in the morning and night. He was awesome!

This review is proving to be so valuable to me!
I will be in a studio on the Getaway in a few months so I love the studio review.

I just wish the Getaway had the live view windows like the Bliss.

What time did you arrive to the port? We will be Platinum for the first time on our Alaska cruise and since we’ll be right across the street I’m not sure if we should hang back a while to avoid the crowds or not. I’ll probably be so excited I’ll want to get there first thing!

Loving your reviews. Too bad about check in /We are platinum have never had an issue in Seattle. Called us as we got to first in line. Told us to go to next room and sit by the big metal door, and we would board after Haven and disabled. And that's how it went.

I didn't make a big deal about it, because I was getting on a cruise! Any day at Sea is better than being on land and a thousand times better than being at work!

Glad it can be of assistance.

I got to Pier 66 at about 10:15 am. The check-in area I went to wasn't busy but the second room was because it was the waiting room as well check-in area for the other section of decks.

Have they changed the waiting area in the last 4 years that you know of? On my cruise in 2015 it was pretty crowded in the general waiting area but I thought I read they had remodeled?

yes they did some to accommodate the bigger ships, but its still not as big as New York or even Vancouver. Plus, the staff aren't as streamlined.

Part of why I was on this cruise was to relax and unwind. After getting the stuff put away, I headed out on Deck 8 the waterfront and found a place to relax till muster drill.

I swear they stole this skybridge from SeaTac International Airport! Both Pier 66 and the Airport are run by Port of Seattle.

We sailed at 5pm. I hung out on deck for a while, then headed for Sugarcane Mojito Bar. The solo meeting was scheduled for 5:30pm at Sugarcane.

IMG_0469-L.jpg

Suzanne Jade was performing there. I ended up listening to her several times over the week.

We met our solo liaison Una at Sugarcane, and we headed up to the solo lounge.

I got ready for Dinner and headed for Q.

IMG_0475-L.jpg

If you remember the review from November 2018 on the Bliss, Q was a let down. Food and pacing were a big issue. I hoped tonight would be different.

I want to apologize for not getting anything accomplished the last few days. Susan and I had a bazaar we were vendors at and then I took her away for a little us time. The Seahawks played last night, and I have been unable to get on and post.

I love how the Bliss has a Starbucks onboard. I was able to get my Starbucks! I got my fall drink, a Venti Iced Salted Caramel Mocha!!!

I relaxed and drank my drink until Savor opened at 7:30 am.
