What are passenger experiences on bidding to upgrade a cabin on NCL?

There is a big thread over on NCL that CruiserBruce shared.

Personally, I have bid for upgrades on several sailings and been successful on all of them except one on the Sky. Always bid the lowest amount of $5 more.
