i have geoblue trekker. ($100/year for medical and evac only)

it expires in the middle of my cruise next year.

i plan to renew but what should be the start date of the new policy?

i'm thinking I should make the start date the beginning of the cruise.

that way i only have 1 policy to deal with in off chance i need to use the policy and not deal with the hassle/confusion that may occur with 2 policies?

(so basically, not use the previous policy for this cruise.)

Why not ask GeoBlue?

We recently renewed a (different) annual policy, and the previous one expires part way through our next trip.
The company knows when the old policy ends, and they start the next policy the next day (each at "mid-night between the two days"), and that takes care of it.  There is no interruption.

You would buy a new policy and have its starting date be the day after the current one expires so you have continuous coverage.

I never renew my annual medical.  Every year I have found changes in coverage.  I start over and make my choice on what coverage I need.

I have been been able to purchase an extension to expiring policies.   Perhaps that is an option.

Annual travel insurance plans are not renewable. Each one you buy starts a new plan year.
