Going on my first Royal Princess Cruise soon. Booked a balcony on deck 9 Dolphin D506. I’d like to upgrade to a mini suite on deck 11 Baja B325.

Which cabin would provide less ocean movement?

Low and midship is theoretically the least motion prone location. But, let's face reality:

It's the ocean and, if it's really rough you'll know it no matter where you are berthed.

Howdy Cre8tor! emo22.gif

Thank you for your first thread on the First Time Cruisers forum and welcome to Cruise Critic! 👍

Since your thread is regarding one specific cruise line, I have moved your thread to the Princess Cruises forum where it will be on topic. Also, the majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed Princess frequent this forum.

This will help the members that know the information and they will reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, ship, port of call, etc. and of course, on the correct forum. emo3.gif  You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship, port or sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers.

Mid ship  lowest deck and inside cabin on the center line of the ship will give you the least amount of movement. But going to a lower deck can give you more engine and equipment noise.  Deck 9 is mid ship and two decks down so less movement. But for most cruises you will not notice the difference.

Lower deck mid-ship, less motion at that location; the higher you go, the more movement your will feel.  Also, forward and aft cabins have the most motion, so if you are subject to sea sickness, stay away from those cabins.

Thanks for your feedback! Going to stay on deck 9.

As others have stated, low and in the middle. In the 500 room you will feel about the same amount of pitch that the Baha deck room in the 300s sees. However you will feel more roll on Baha which gets my DW sick.

Our preference is D409 and D410. These are the middle MA Minis, with the angled balcony facing forward. My DW who is very sensitive to motion has never had a problem the few time we have sailed a royal class princess ship in either of these two room locations.
