Gitmo Posted November 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2019 We will be on the Emerald Princess and were wondering what milk alternatives are available and in what venues? Thanks in advance and happy sailing!
Idratherbeatsea Posted November 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2019 Soy milk, Almond milk and lactose free cows milk. There is an area in the online check in section to self identify as being lactose intolerant.
junglejane Posted November 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2019 On my cruise on the Royal last month, at breakfast in the buffet there was an area where they set up a cereal bar, including muesli and toppings. There were several cartons of non-dairy milk products that you could help yourself to (soy, almond, lactose free). I've gotten soy milk in the dining room and from room service, and had coffee drinks made with soy milk in the International Cafe. I didn't try asking about almond or other alternatives at those venues, but you could probably get it.
gkthorn Posted November 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2019 I concur with junglejane. My wife an I fill out the breakfast card and always indicate milk alternatives for our cereal. they've been good about it. Sometimes at the end of a cruise, if it's a lengthy one, they may run out of Almond Milk or Soy Milk.
Rosemary222 Posted November 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2019 For my Alaska trip on the Royal, I sent t an advance email requesting almond milk. Once onboard, I went to the International Cafe and asked for a coffee drink with almond milk. They didn’t have almond milk for me the first day, but they verified that my name was on their special needs list and, thereafter, they they had a carton of almond milk in their fridge with my name on it. Every time I asked for a drink they used almond milk from that carton. I appreciated it. In the main dining room, they had soy milk available by request, with no need for advance notice.

disneyochem Posted November 8, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2019 Last May on the Grand, I was able to get coconut milk (for lattes and coffee) at the IC as well as in the MDR. I just requested it while on the ship.

donnag22 Posted November 9, 2019 #10 Share Posted November 9, 2019 I also was just on the Star last weekend and in the International Cafe they only had Soy or Rice milk available. I did not fill out anything requesting something different. The barista said that Rice milk is no good for lates. Haha. I did not see Almond Milk in buffet either but never made it to the MDR.
