Earliest flight out of Venice / RCI Transfers

I'm looking for flights after our cruise which ends in Venice.

 

What's a safe bet on a flight out?

 

There's a 9:35am departure I'd really like to take.  Means getting to airport at 8:30, and off the ship by 7am I would imagine.    

 

Sounds like it's too early.

 

Next flight is at 3pm  I hate to lose that much of the day, but I'm assuming it's the smarter choice. 

 

I was thinking of using RCI transfers to the airport.  Smart or should I just grab a taxi?   (I don't want the 2 hour water taxi)  looking for a fast way there, and to get out!

You need more than an hour at Marco Polo Airport.  It is chaotic!  

Is the 9.35am departure inter eu/schengen area or is it to USA?

Minimum I would allow for an eu flight at Marco Polo is 2 hours.

I would take the safer choice - the 9:30 flight is far too tight. As already mentioned, Marco Polo is chaotic. I would also be concerned that my ship might be delayed docking in VCE if I had such an early flight.

All of this will depend on whether your ship gets in that morning (and what time), or the day before and spends the night.  Is the 9:35 a non-stop to a US airport, or is it a flight to somewhere else in Europe? If you get in that morning, and the 9:35 is non-stop to the US, 9:35 is definitely way too tight.

 

If your ship gets in the day before and spends the night, then your calculations change totally.
