Original Canopy Tour in PV

Bazel

Recommended Posts

I did the zip line trip with the Original Canopy Tour while in Costa Rica. I felt the operation was very professional and I felt very safe. Has anyone used them in PV?

Any comments/feedback?

Thanks,

I know the web site for "The Original Canopy Tour" says they have an operation in Puerto Vallarta. If they do, I have no idea where it operates and you will not find it listed under that name.

There are three canopy tours in the greater Vallarta area, actually one canopy tour and two zip line tours.

The canopy tour operated by Vallarta Adventures has an operation that is nearly identical to the "Original Canopy Tour". Nearly all lines are tree-top platform to tree-top platform with two suspended bridges. This link takes you to the VA web site - http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/canopy-tour/index.html Compare that to the description on the OCT web site - http://www.canopypago.com/puerto.html

The two other canopy/zip line tours are at El Eden and Los Veranos. These are mostly long zip lines across river valleys. They are quite thrilling with several lines being 400+ feet above the valley floor.

I have done the VA tour (which is a combo eco tour/zip line ride with 11 lines) and the Los Veranos tour (which is a zip line thrill ride with 15 lines). I enjoyed bow.

The VA tour is sold through the cruise ships and they will not allow you to book with them directly at their reduced internet price. You can book them at the reduced rate through a third-party tour seller such as http://www.vallartaonline.com/tours/Canopy/

Los Veranos is booked directly via the internet at http://www.canopytours-vallarta.com/ (pay cash upon arrival for best price) or they can be booked at http://www.vallartaonline.com/tours/CanopyToursdeLosVeranos/ for the next best price and you can pay via credit card from home. (I think vallartaonline still show the old price for Los Veranos, expect it to be a little higher that the amount currently listed.

I did Vallarta Adventures in 2004 and had a great time. Did Los Veranos with my 66 year old BIL last November and had a blast.

Los Veranos is one of the hottest tickets in town for cruisers right now. They have continious tours throughout the day, at one hour intervals, starting as early as 9 AM. When done, you can hang out at the excursion site or head back to town. Tour starts on the far south side of PV and you must make your way to/from their office. It's about a $6 USD cab ride each way from/to the port with up to four people in the taxi.

Enjoy!
