Farewell Celebrity Solstice

A member has just posted on the Celebrity boards, the first 2021/2022 schedule to be released for Celebrity.  Looking through the schedule it looks as though the Celebrity Solstice, (which has become a favourite of Aust. and NZ cruisers), has been relocated to Asia and South America.  The Celebrity Eclipse will be doing the Aust/NZ and South Pacific sailings.

I am both sad and glad. As she is my favourite ship, seeing the Solstice leave our waters is sad for me but it also means I can sail on her with different itineraries.

Could suggest possible deployment of one of the newer Edge class here.

Sydney Ports and Melbourne Ports Cruise Schedules show both the Eclipse and Solstice at varying times for the 2021-22 season so a bit confusing. I might have to ask a few questions next time I work.

Solstice and Eclipse will both be operating in Aust for 2020-21 season and  are the same class  but the Edge class is WAY different.

Just got a pretty good offer for a sampler on Eclipse next year and had one for Solstice a few weeks ago.

Yeah, not sure what is going on there, I thought there would be the two here for the season but who knows.

Still can be two, just replace with another. All depends whether expected yield is sufficient.

I would imagine that X would have access to Lelepa Island as well.

That's what I meant , they are both listed for the season for both Melbourne and Sydney but  as you say one could be replaced with a  different ship. It will be interesting to see how Melbourne works out next season.

Yes, I suppose one may move up to Brisbane for several cruises in 2021/2022 once the new terminal is finished.

Could be a opening  for quantum of the seas.

Asia will have wonder,spectrum and quantum, one of them has to go during the northern winter.

Yeah, it was historically tough.. though Princess have seemed to make it viable so it may be more promising. But yields for Celebrity in Australia aren't so good this season either, in which case Melbourne will always come off second best.

That may be nice, but not many docked ports for it to visit.
