beach towel question

Does Holland America   give you towels to take off the ship to go to the ports with beaches   or to their own island??

 

Are there a lot of beach chairs to use   - are they in the shade??

Your room stewards will leave you one beach towel per person in your room.  There are lots and lots of beach chairs available for use.  You can move them to shade or sun; your choice.

Make sure you take the towel back to your room so that you don't get charged for it. Your steward will collect the used towel and give you a fresh one.

They are very large beach towels & like the OP noted you are responsible to return the towel to your cabin .

If you need an extra towel, you can pick them up by one of the pools.

 

Just bring them back to the ship.

The towels are great but make sure you bring them back or get charged.  We bought some we liked them so much.  The chairs are plentiful at HMC but you rent them in other ports.

Most of the loungers are out in the sun, and to get one in the shade you should go in early. You may have to drag a lounger up under or near the trees.

It depends on the port whether beach chairs are available to rent. In the Caribbean, mostly yes. We just returned from a South Pacific cruise. There were no beach chairs available at all in Fiji, New Caledonia or Sydney, Australia, just your Holland America towel on the sand.
