Rum Festival March 2020!

If you're cruising out of San Juan first week in March 2020, you might want to consider going to this. I won't be cruising at that time but going anyway!

Having been to it, 110% agree- we had a blast at that event, for both days.

 

If you have the time, I would also suggest to attend the seminars- they are very interesting.  And when we really engaged (as I was very curious about rum and rum making)- you may end up with some good friends and extra stuff.

 

One of the more interesting seminars had us tasting cane juice, and then Don Q clear, and you can really taste the cane in the rum.  While we always preferred Don Q over Bacardi, we learned why at the Festival.

 

Oh, and the food was great!

We just switched our return flight to Sunday so we can attend.  Now I need to find a hotel room in OSJ.

Look into Hotel Milano.  On Calle Fortaleza.  Reasonable prices. Great restaurant on roof for your dining the evening before and only a short walk to BahiaUrbana.   Another option that won't break the bank is the Hotel Plaza de Armas. On Calle San Jose. Older not a lot of amenities but good for a short stay.  If willing to fork over $300+ for the night, the Sheraton Old San Juan across from Pier 3 is also close by.

Yeah, been looking at the Hotel Milano.  Probably not horrible for just a room to crash for a single night. 

 

Sheraton just opened up some rooms today.  But they are a little proud of them based on the pricing.  🤯

We booked an Airbnb.

Eventually booked Hotel Milano.  Now we are debating on the $40 tickets or the $60 tickets.  Will probably end up with the $60 tickets so we can get in earlier.

Haven't purchased yet.  Will probably wait until we are closer to the event.
