smokey11 Posted November 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2019 Hi just checking to see if anyone has purchased the arcade package and is it worth it? I will be on Getaway in January for 9 days and it is $160. It says that it can be used on any arcade game with green colored swipes. What type of games have the green colored swipes? Just curious what type games they have available. Thanks!
DanzOma Posted November 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2019 I just got off the Escape on Wednesday and had the arcade package for our stateroom. Totally worth it for us (2 adults and 2 kids). I, too, was worried about how many green swipes there were. You get a list of what is covered and what is not when you go to the casino. Any game in which you can win tickets is NOT included i.e. skeetball (our favorite, but only $1.14). We played air hockey, basketball, all arcade video games (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Guitar Hero). It also included green swipe games in O'Sheehan's: pool, Mario, a "hunting" game. These ranged in price between $1.70 to $3. It does not include bowling (~$6 pp). We had some bad weather to/from Bermuda and spent a lot of our time indoors. I would say take the cost and divide by the length of your trip to get a per day average and decide if it makes sense for you. We definitely used more than the $23 per day it cost us. Hope this helps!
zebrazeb Posted November 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2019 following thread. is it ok to just get one card for 8 year old, or best to get another for adult?
DanzOma Posted November 23, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2019 It is one arcade package per stateroom, they expect it to be shared by everyone in the stateroom. NCL will put it on one person's key card and it's that card that needs to be swiped (you choose who). I'd put it on an adult's card since the 8 year old may not be going to the arcade/O'Sheehan's by himself?
Two_UW_Badgers Posted November 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2019 We had it on a 9 day cruise in January and are buying it again for the 7 day cruise next January. Interesting the price is still $160! In addition to everything above, we played a lot of darts and some pool while kids were in Splash Academy. I’m hoping there are darts in O’Sheehans on the Escape too!

Jenner9 Posted November 23, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2019 When is this available for purchase?
sns1009 Posted November 23, 2019 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) I'm looking into this too for my son and husband on our March Encore cruise. I don't even see it as an option on my NCL page. Do you purchase once on the ship and if so where? We are 55 days out and it just showed up on my NCL page as an option to buy about a week or so ago. I have been checking often to see if its available.
tallnthensome Posted November 23, 2019 #11 Share Posted November 23, 2019 60 days out is when this package is opened for bookings on most sailings. Not before then.
smokey11 Posted November 23, 2019 Author #12 Share Posted November 23, 2019 So it does include pool and darts in O'Sheahans too? If so that is awesome! How much are those normally a game?
GettotheSun Posted November 23, 2019 #13 Share Posted November 23, 2019 I'm definitely going to get this for our stateroom - love that it is just one charge to be shared. However, I don't think I'll have them put it on my card; hoping the pass can be put on my 14 year old son's card...I would assume so? then he and my 11 year old can fight over it in the arcade while I'm having a mojito somewhere else on the ship!

Haha, Yes you can put it on your sons card. I just purchased it yesterday and put it in my 14 year old sons name and thinking the same thing that he and his 10 year old sister can fight over it! So funny!
sec1219 Posted November 24, 2019 #15 Share Posted November 24, 2019 Can you buy it on the ship as well?
Paul Bogle Posted November 24, 2019 #16 Share Posted November 24, 2019 You can buy it onboard. On our last cruise it was available for purchase at the casino cage. You can also get a sheet listing which games are covered in both the arcade and O'Sheehans.

So I went to purchase, and there were selections to be able to the buy the card for each person in room. NOT one per room. So I bought just one, and put it on my card. I figured 99.9% of the time my 8 year old would be with me anyway if we were in the arcade, or anywhere else it would be used. Of course the question becomes, is it ok to share the card between us? I know what my answer is, but curious if anyone else has had this dilemma?

You are allowed to share but need to avoid more than three swipes in three minutes. The card gets locked for 15 minutes.
