Hello everyone. I always have gotten great advice on tours on this site. We are doing our first European cruise with our two teenage boys 18/20. Just need some advice on private tour groups to use in these ports of call. Thanks in advance. Florence, Italy Rome, Italy, Naples, Italy Venice, Italy we are there two days port at 2pm another place is Kotor, Montenegro. Thank you so much.

Have you looked down the board? Many recommended vendors for each of the ports you mention.

One vendor, the wonderful Rome in Limo, with a large thread full of recommendations just down the board, operates in 3 of your ports. Using them for multiple tours will get you a nice discount. And they are a fantastic operation.

Don;t rule out DIY options for some of the ports.  Especially with your teens; they might not enjoy dragging around with a busload of 30-40 people or even a mini van of 8.  We found the trains very easy to use and very economical.

Read up on each port and determine what you want to see and do at each location. Get input from your kids. You may find that a shared tour would work best, or maybe a private tour, or maybe DIY, depending on the port.   I bought Rick Steves book, " Mediterranean Cruise Ports" and found it very useful.  Your Roll Call is another good resource since fellow pax will be looking for others to join their small group tours.  Also, use the RESEARCH tab above for DESTINATIONS to get info on sights, activities and vendors used.  Pull up past trip reports.

We went DIY except in Naples.  Initially we wanted to see Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, but when we looked at the details of this tour combo,  they didn't provide enough time along the coast.  Seeing the villages along the coast was our priority so we had to drop Pompeii.  Then we hired a private driver and changed up the itinerary a bit to meet our needs, about 400E for an 8hr day.    Have fun with your research and planning !
