Vaccinations for South America Cruise?

Will be on Viking cruise with port stops in Chile, Argentina. Likely will have some meals in countries. Do I need Typhoid and Hep A immunizations?

We have hep vaccinations.  Not because of travel to foreign lands but for travel at home and throughout NA.

You should have Hep A and Hep B as a normal fact of life now adays

 

I'd also recommend looking for a local Travel Clinic or if not available talk to you doctor about what the State Department recommends.

We are also on the Viking South America cruise.  Checking the countries, no vaccinations are required for Chile, Argentina, or Uruguay.   Argentina has had a recent outbreak of measles.  Brazil is listed as having issues in recent times with polio, yellow fever, and measles, but we don't intend to go there.

Anytime we travel, we visit a travel medicine clinic. Have a consultation with a doctor who reviews the itinerary and makes recommendations. They should also review the times in port, whether you are overnight, any inland or over-night excursions, etc.

No specific vaccines are required for these countries, but everyone ought to have both Hep A and B as routine vaccinations.   Other things, TDaP, MMR, Pneumococcal, H. Zoster and Flu should just be up to date.  I am leaving for a similar itinerary in 2 weeks and believe Typhoid is overkill for this trip.  You should consult with a knowledgeable physician if you have further questions.
