San Juan at night with kids

Hello all,

I've done some searching on the boards but I seem to be striking out.  We'll be in port from 5:30pm - 12am and I'm looking to do something more active with our kids, 10 & 13.  We were looking at doing the ships Bio Bay tour but that is sold out already.  Is it possible to do this with a private tour and make it back in time?  That is the one thing that concerns me is we don't want to miss the ship.

Is there anything else we could do?  I figured all jungle trips would be closed as it would be getting dark a few hours after we arrive.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Most outdoor activities wont be going at that time because of it getting dark and you really don't have that much time. When we went out of town to the jungle/beach near Dorado it was like a 45 minute drive each way.

If you dock at 5:30 you wont be off the ship until 6pm at the earliest. And you'll have to be back on between 11-1130 at the latest. You pretty much have time to go find somewhere nice to eat and walk around town.

Given how much fun the nightlife can be there-- wouldn't also be a bad night to check the kids into a program onboard the ship and go out for a nice meal, a few drinks, and maybe pop into one of the casinos.

There is night kayaking at the lagoon which is about a 20 minute taxi ride from the dock. Let me see if I can find the link.

There's also a huge sports complex where the public can play soccer, etc. Let me see if I can find that link.
