tommy Posted December 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2019 We just off the Equinox Dec 14 sailing We went to the show and it was bad It was a lot of guitar solos and not enough singing The lead singer kept leaving the stage I have never seen so many people walk out of a show At least 50 people walked out We kept waiting for the show to get better It didn't and we finally walked out Anyone else see the show? crankycruiser Posted December 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 25, 2019 We caught the 7 pm show. The singer was more of a distraction. We found the guitarist pretty good. The pianist was great until he was doing back up vocals--terrible. I did see a few people leave early though.

Lady Chew Posted December 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2019 We've walked out of several concerts by Journey … I can't imagine how bad it must be to walk out on a tribute band!!
Nymich Posted December 29, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2019 Don't stop Believing that eventually with a few adjustments it can be a good show!
davekathy Posted December 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2019 (edited) September 2019 Summit cruise the Journey Tribute band Resurrection was fantastic. The theater was packed. Edited December 29, 2019 by davekathy
Cruzinram Posted December 29, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I think it might have been the age demographics on this sailing. It seemed to me that there where a lot of seniors myself included. I thought it was a good show. It is very difficult to find someone who can duplicate the vocal range of Steve Perry. RickT Posted December 29, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 29, 2019 As a friend once said... “There are people who like Journey and others who are wrong” 😋 That said, how good (or bad) the cover band is can determine whether it’s a good show or not. What was the name of the cover band on Equinox?
sjb317 Posted December 29, 2019 #13 Share Posted December 29, 2019 We saw a Journey tribute band on Equinox in July and they weren’t bad. The guitarist was really good. People seemed to be enjoying the show and the theater was full, even to the end. They did another show in the Centrum one night and it was packed also. zitsky Posted December 29, 2019 #14 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I've learned over the years that I don't enjoy concerts much. I'd rather listen to the music at home. But I can/do enjoy on board if the music is good.
helen haywood Posted December 29, 2019 #15 Share Posted December 29, 2019 We always sit in the barstool seats at the back of the theater on Deck 4 so we can make a discrete withdrawal if we need to...
Luvcrusn Posted December 29, 2019 #16 Share Posted December 29, 2019 hh- we sit in the back row upper level for the same reason!

maggieq Posted December 29, 2019 #20 Share Posted December 29, 2019 What was the name of the band? We have seen Resurrection twice on the Jewel and three times in the anthem and they were amazing. We were not even Journey fans until we saw them.
pawmtweez Posted December 31, 2019 #21 Share Posted December 31, 2019 I am also curious as to the name of the band. We can take or leave Journey, but loved DSB on Anthem.

They tend to hand write receipts that often get confused and I'm charged for drinks that are included on the beverage package. Not worth the aggravation of then going to GS to get the charges reversed. I'll stick with the back row.
zitsky Posted December 31, 2019 #23 Share Posted December 31, 2019 Can't you just say...I have drink package classic/premium so drink is free (at time of transaction?)

They collect the cards and come back with these receipts. I assume that even with the beverage package they need to keep track of the inventory.
