Baggies58 Posted December 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2019 Hi All, greetings from Ireland. This is my first post and we have never been on a cruise before. For our 40th Wedding Anniversary (and wife's 60th) we have booked our first cruise on the Serenade Of The Seas in August 2020. We booked a Junior Suite for the extra room and hopefully views. Our kids told us to book the Junior Suite as they are paying the extra to get the suite. So, what should we expect ??, did we pick the right cabin or is it not worth the extra money ??. Has anyone stayed in cabin 1572 on the Serenade Of The Seas ?? We know nothing about cruises, so would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance
crystalspin Posted December 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) Hello and welcome to Cruise Critic! Your cabin is nicely placed close but not too close to the elevators. It is under a carpeted area of the Windjammer (buffet) restaurant, IOW sitting not cooking area. This is good because they tend to cook and clean all night! Your Junior Suite looks very nice -- on CruiseDeckPlans.com -- there are two photos of your cabin but they are members only (except a tiny thumbnail). However you can see sample pics at this site: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/category-detail.php?c=973 If you stand looking at your balcony windows, your bed and sofa are on your right, the desk and easy chair on on the left. As far as finding someone who has stayed in or near your suite, I suggest reposting the question to the RCI specific 'board', here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/51-royal-caribbean-international/ On the left below the red bar, is a place to limit your search to your particular ship, that can filter the overwhelming amount of data, or prioritize what you want to read first! This particular section doesn't get the traffic the line boards do, although I try to pop in once a day to help people out! You're going to love Alaska! We're going back for our fourth trip in June. cb at sea Posted January 1, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2020 A JS is a fantastic way to cruise. The cabin is more like a hotel room...the bath is larger because of the tub/shower combo....very nice!
