Montego Bay departure

Recommended Posts

We will be cruising on the  Discovery 2. in February this year. Our flight out of Montego Bay

does not leave until late in the afternoon. I am wondering if anyone has used the airport VIP

lounge in Montego Bay?. I know from past Cruises that the long wait at the Airport can be

very uncomfortable. If anyone has used the lounge I would love to hear if you thought it

was worth booking and your opinion of the facility and the service.

We have used Sangster airport at Montego Bay almost 20 times,.....we do like Jamaica.

It can become completely chaotic!!!!

we always book club mobay departures. Honestly we wouldn't depart Sangster without it,.. it's a lovley lounge, but it also gives you priority customs, so you get to jump what can sometimes be hours of hot queues. We usually book via tripadvisor, but Expedia and others often have deals so keep your eye out and book the best price for your own departure date.

happy travels.

Thanks for your reply 'MANCHESTER is blue'

It sounds as if it is well worth it to book the service. I will check out the prices being offered.

We are booked on the Marella Cruise with SUNWING from Toronto.

One thing I have noticed on the booking sites is that they say 2 or 3 hours.

Do you know if they are flexible with this or if they charge more to extend your time ?.

I think we are looking at about 4 hours + at the Airport and longer if we run into weather

related flight delays due to unpredictable Winter weather in Toronto

Hi Can-cruise.

Whenever we have booked the lounge we are careful to add the times of our expected arrival, and departure times to the booking, conscious of the 3 hour rule,.....however, bear in mind this is Jamaica mon,.....timings are rarely, if ever adhered too, so providing you don't intend camping out in there, they are really quite flexible,...we have never been chased out of the place and have never witnessed anyone else being asked to leave having outstayed the advertised 3 hour stay.

Relax and enjoy, it's a rather nice way to finish off your holiday.

  • 4 weeks later...

Our flight back is scheduled for 16:00, what time do they usually turf you off the ship - or do they take account of the flight time, and allow a later disembarkation?  Just working out the logistics and the time we are expected to be in the airport for.

To access the lounge (club mo bay) ,......as you approach the bag search area, just after check in, you'll see the club mo bay agents on your left,....you can't  miss them, as they have a great big stand at the entrance to bag search.  Show the agents your club mo bay tickets, and they will escort you to the  priority security lanes,. Once through security, just follow the signs to the lounge..which in our opinion, is very nice, and a great way to end your holiday.
