brd1121 Posted January 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2020 I tried searching for existing answers but came up empty- does anyone know if Carnival charges taxes while in US waters sailing from Seattle-Tracy Arm Fjord-Skagway-Juneau-Ketchikan-Victoria (yes I know this isn't US). Thanks in advance! Been awhile since I have cruised and I am so excited!
Schoifmom Posted January 9, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2020 You will pay taxes on all purchases made in US waters, at the rate imposed by the state that you are in at the time. This also applies to drinks obtained using Cheers or BB.
brd1121 Posted January 9, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2020 Thanks, yes I saw that information in the terms of Cheers- Alaska doesn’t have state sales tax but municipalities do so I was more asking about what people have experienced when sailing
