MamaFej Posted January 12, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Every once in a blue moon the Residency Rate or Police/EMT Rate does allow for a slight discount. The small print states that we may be asked for proof of eligibility upon check-in. So far, we have not, but Hubby always had his ID card (but not badge) with him, just in case. Now that he has retired, he has an official Retired ID card (and badge). Does anyone know if a Retired ID would be sufficient for proof of eligibility for the rare discount? Does anyone have experience with boarding agents actually requesting ID? Thanks
omeinv Posted January 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Never had it asked for, but the rules allowed for current or retired. Harris Denver, CO
MamaFej Posted January 12, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks, Harris! That's what I suspected, but I appreciate the confirmation.
NYTwinsMom Posted January 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Another possibly 'stupid' question. Does anyone know if county Emergency Response dispatchers would be eligible for this discount?

I think there may be a good chance that dispatchers are eligible. Celebrity is hosting "Cruises for Heroes" on the relocated Millennium from Los Angeles. In addition to military, California-based firefighters, cops, and EMTs, dispatchers are eligible. I think it would definitely be worth asking your travel advisor or calling Celebrity. My husband and I are both retired firefighters. https://www.celebritycruises.com/int/cruise-ships/cruising-for-heroes
