Gardens nearby port for walking?

We will be in Costa Maya between 7-3 and just want to walk around the town, but not to shop. Are there nearby gardens and things like that for walking/hiking? We don't have physical limitations and prefer not to be seated in a taxi for long.  Thanks!

Not in CM. Port or beach malecon in Mahahual.

No gardens, parks, etc.

The small town just outside the port is Neuvo Mahahual.  Basically a street from port to Highway. There is a path in the median strip  that goes from the Farmacia to the highway.
