Pictured here is a YumBone. Nearly every morning for the last 6½ years, Kim would give one to Cookie and she would either eat it then or hide it for later. When we got home on Saturday night, we noticed that the YumBone was gone but she hadn't touched her food. Over the next 10 hours she had a couple of apparent seizures and the last left her unable to move. We rushed her to the vet and after examining her, it was determined that she had suffered a devastating heart attack. We made the arrangements and said our tearful farewells. After picking up her assorted pillows and dog beds, we found this YumBone that had been saved for later. It broke our hearts that there would be no later. We will miss you dearly, our little Puppy Love.

Dave. a sad loss, and poignant photo...I've been there myself and it's a painful thing losing a beloved pet.  Condolences.

I wanted to keep my photo post separate from the sentiment above.  Here are some action shots this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, which ended up being quite the weekend for raptor encounters:

I don't get to see bald eagles too often - last time was March 2019...and now again this weekend:

 

Of course, the day wasn't ALL raptors.  There was also George - a very well known and large local resident of Wakodahatchee Wetlands:

 

And these guys - who are always around!  Good old green iguanas:
