SandyMc Posted January 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2020 I will be taking my new wheelchair on a cruise in February. Do you have the remove the batteries and take on the plane with you or can you leave them on the wheelchair to be placed in the hold for the trip to the port? TRadle Posted January 13, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2020 It depends on the type of battery. It is best to ask the airline.
Splinter Posted January 15, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2020 Only lithium or liquid acid batteries (rarely used anymore) must be removed. Gel batteries do not.
