Bringing Electric fan onboard !!!

Not on the prohibited list

 

Prohibited items:

  • Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas.
  • Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.)
  • Illegal Drugs & Substances
  • CBD Oil / CBD Products
  • Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy are curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However ""torch lighters"" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited.
  • Hoverboards
  • Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Sports Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks.
  • Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks.
  • Hookahs & Water Hookah Pipes.
  • HAM Radios
  • Baby Monitors
  • Electrical Extension Cords
  • Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint.
  • Perishable Food & Meat Products
  • Alcoholic Beverages (Note: On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne. Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the two permitted bottles on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.)

Exceptions can be made for the following sporting goods; however, the item must be stored in the guest’s stateroom and cannot be used onboard.

  • Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, and Golf clubs
  • Skateboards, Surfboards, and Bicycles

I'll give it a try...    It says.... and any other item that may create a fire hazard. 

 

I used to put one in my checked back on Princess and they called me down to the naughty room and took it.  They said it was a fire hazzard.  After that, I started carry it on in my carry on bag.  That worked sometimes...  Other time they took it....

Wow they really brought this list to the 21 century to include Hoverboards  and CBD Oil. I haven't looked at it in years. Now I want to check out the other lines.

I always bring an electric fan...not a big box fan, or rotating thing...but a 5" desk fan...I need air blowing on me to sleep....hot flashes....and this works ok for a week.  At home, the ceiling fan is on HURRICANE setting...but I make-do on vacation!

We used to request a box fan for our cabin every cruise but the last year or so they have not always provided one and instead sent us an email saying box fans are allowed as long as they are in good working order.  We have just started bringing our own.  The cruise we did on Allure last year we put a luggage tag on it and left it with the porters.  It went to the naughty room just long enough for them to "inspect" it and make sure it was okay (no frayed cord, etc.) and we were then able to pick it up a couple hours after boarding.

I would love a box fan...  I like it for the noise.  It helps a little with everyone slamming there doors to block it out a little...

Who would you request a fan from ??   Is there an email address ?   
id love to request one.  I’m bringing a tiny USB one with me next week.  But would love a bigger fan.   I’m a hot sleeper.

I used to request a fan each cruise, however, the last couple they've replied stating they are no longer available but I can bring my own.

 

I usually stop at Walmart or Target and pick one up for $15 or less.  I have a battery operated travel fan, but it does not make enough noise. (which is the reason we use it) 🤨😐
