cleobella Posted January 17, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2020 Is it possible to visit a fado bar on your own, in Lisbon, without doing a tour? Any recommendations for places that are not too expensive, are authentic and where you can just have drinks and tapas as opposed to a full meal? Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted January 17, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2020 Rick Steves has a nice section on this in his Portugal guidebook (which you can probably get from your local library).

Omega1 Posted January 23, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2020 Check the resturante ‘A Travessa Do Fado’ at the Fado Museum. We had a lovely lunch there and they have Fado performances - but not every day.

Rare Hlitner Posted February 2, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2020 DW and I love Fado and manage to fit in a Fado evening whenever we are in Lisbon. Our go to place is Senor Vinho which has an evening dinner with multiple top Fado performers. Not only do we get to enjoy the quality local cuisine, but we get a few hours of some of the best Fado in the country. For cruisers this only works if you have an overnight or very late departure.
