Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 23, 2020 Author #176 Share Posted January 23, 2020 Here is tonight’s dinner menu. DW got a salad and the BBQ hamburger. She said the burger was significantly better than what they have on deck. She said it was very flavorful. I got the ceviche and, of course, the Twice Baked Goat Cheese soufflé. We had the sorbet in between courses. I did 2 entrees tonight with the scallops and the pork chop. Hard pass on the scallops. They were not very good, bland and the accompaniments were disappointing. On the other hand. The pork chop. Best thing I’ve eaten onboard. Perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. Should have gotten two of those instead! Here is the dessert menu. DW had the chefs special which was coffee “mousse” and the pine-orange sorbet (not pictured. They initially forgot it and brought it later). I got the chocolate lovers delight.

If I had to guess I would say the Concerts at Sea folks being on board may have effected this as they use a number of the spaces onboard for their program. But we have 2 sea days coming up. My guess if they were going to have one it would be then. thanks! I will keep an eye out for the patters for the sea days. Appreciate the info and time you are taking on your trip to post

Sorry you didn't get the new bed. 😞

Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #182 Share Posted January 24, 2020 The entertainment onboard continues to be excellent. Last night was Beattlemania and they didn’t disappoint. I’m not a huge Beattie fan, but they put on a great show and played some of the songs that I do like of theirs. It was a fun show. After the show we headed to Princess Live for the Liars Club game show. Didn’t know what to expect but we wanted to change it up a bit. On our what there they had a full band playing in the piazza. And they had this guy walking around the area. We made it to Princess Live and sat down for the show. It was ok. They gave you a word and the 3 people on the panel gave long elaborate stories about what the true definition is. Then as groups of 6 you voted which one was right. We stayed for about 20 min and decided to call it a night.

Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #184 Share Posted January 24, 2020 Here is the Patter for today. We woke up this morning to some pretty rocky seas. While not that bad in 16 cruises I’ve never felt the ship move this much (Windstar is an exception But that’s because their ships are tiny in comparison). We headed down to breakfast in the MDR. Here is the menu for today. I had the open face omelet and it was good. DW got gluten free toast with jam, hash browns and bacon. After breakfast we headed to the room to get ready and then to Crooners to relax and enjoy the morning. I like crooners because the chairs are comfortable, you have a good view and can still enjoy any music playing from the piazza.

If you like stuffed olives, while at Crooners, ask for a stuffed olive tray. DW & I love it, it is a flight of olives each stuffed with a different stuffing. They don't advertise it, you just need to ask for it.

Not a huge olive fan but I’m willing to try just about anything. I’ll tell you what I do like are those honey roasted peanuts they have. Oh my, I could each those by the pound! 2
sttopmh Posted January 24, 2020 #187 Share Posted January 24, 2020 The character in the lobster suit indicates that there will be lobster on the menu the next evening. Interesting, our city has an annual crawfish festival in the Spring. There's a character walking around with that same suit and his name is Craw Daddy.
Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #188 Share Posted January 24, 2020 We were waiting in line to enter for lunch and I saw something interesting. On the tablets they use to see who is here based on the medallions near by a little bible in the right indicates loyalty level. For some though there is a blue or red bubble with “VIP” in it. Thought that was interesting. There were too many people around for our faces to show up, but we certainly are not VIPs. But an interesting insight into how they use the system.

Any info on whether these are offered on this ship and itinerary? Don’t know about the egg drop, but I saw the sign up for the Escape Room on the Patter that was posted on the first day. Sign up is at the Outrigger at 7:30 on the first night. I’m pretty sure the cost is $8 per person. We’re looking forward to trying it next week. Never done it on board, but know a few who’ve done here at home, with good reviews.
Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #191 Share Posted January 24, 2020 Here is today’s lunch menu. DW preordered the Chicken tortilla soup and the salad. I had the tuna melt sandwich. The soup was good but didn’t have the tortilla strips in it which is odd. It’s usually corn tortilla strips which DW can eat but they maybe make them in house and may use flour tortillas? My sandwich was good. They prepared a special dessert for DW, a cranberry apple crumble which she said was tart and delicious. We will see if they do a different dessert for her at dinner tonight. we lounged around this afternoon. Ship is still moving pretty good and that always makes me drowsy. At 3pm we are heading the the Cruise Director Q&A in Princess live hut other than that none of the other activities are that compelling. And I would hate to even see what the pool looks like today lol. Adventure of the Seas (joining us in FLL) and Anthem to the Seas (heading to Bayonne) are on either side of us heading north. Pretty sure this photo is the Adventure of the Seas.

Disclaimer: Alcohol may have been involved. 2 years ago on the Crown I was early for the musical act in the Explorers Lounge and this show was taking place. I decided to stay and check it out. One of the words was Aholehole (pronounced A-hole-E-hole-E). Before any of the participants on stage could start their definition, I blurted out, AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS, TOM BRADY! I got the biggest laugh of the evening. For the record an aholehole is a fish. I'll be waiving to you on Sunday when I board the Regal! Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #195 Share Posted January 24, 2020 We went to the Q&A with the Cruise Director. I always enjoy going to these when they have them as I Learn something new each time. -3 levels of crew onboard. Crew, Staff, and Officers. -Crew and Staff eat in a buffet type setup and their menu rotated every 28 days. -Officers eat in a dining room setup and they can order off the passenger menu. -Staff and Officers can eat in Public areas and crew can with permission from their supervisor. -New waiters generally start in the officer’s mess before serving passengers in the MDR. -Contracts State they will work 13 hour days. -The minimum wage onboard is above the minimum wage of the country you are from. -There are 600 people staying on board for next weeks cruise. -The medical team trains and is able to respond to any location on the ship within 2 minutes of receiving the call. Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #199 Share Posted January 24, 2020 Here is tonight’s dinner menu. It’s one of my favorite that Princess does. DW got the Rice Paper wraps and a salad. I got the seafood appetizer as well as the Escargot, my personal favorite as long as there is plenty of Brad to soak up that delicious butter with! For dinner DW ordered pasta and I got the lobster and the shirt ribs. DW said her pasta was good after a little salt and pepper and was in some kind of squash based sauce. My short ribs were delicious and the lobster was perfectly cooked. Here is the dessert menu. DW got a passion fruit cake, she thought the chocolate cake was better, and the mandarin sorbet, I got the chocolate dome and sorbet as well. Rare Steelers0854 Posted January 24, 2020 Author #200 Share Posted January 24, 2020 After dinner we walked around a bit and debated about going to the show. The boat is still rocking pretty good and calling it an early night sounded very tempting. So we headed to the cabin and enjoyed a bit on the balcony before we called it a night.
