Breakfast Room Service

There's a hang tag for the door with common selections (coffee, pastries, juice, eggs & meat) for you to check off. We frequently pencil in a bagel & lox with all the standard accompaniments (not pre-printed on the menu) and they come through.

Does QE have a separate Breakfast Menu like most other lines?  Thanks.

Yes - and on our recent 12 day Caribbean sailing every morning, regardless of the time requested, it was delivered between 5 and 10 minutes before the time specified.

It it was also good, still hot, and at no add-on cost .

On our World Cruises on Cunard, a hot breakfast was delivered every morning within 5 to 10 minutes of our specified time. We also added items frequently, no problem.

If we decided to call in a breakfast instead of leaving it on the door the night before, it was usually delivered within half an hour of placing our order.

Best service ever.

haircut4u,

We have always had excellent results with ordering Room Service on the Queen Mary 2.

We normally call and not use the door knob tag the night before. This way we are up and ready to accept the order at the door.

When we use Room Service during the day, we also call the order in and we have it delivered within 20 - 25 minutes.

If you ever wish to try a great sandwich on Room Service, my favorite is their Club Sandwich which I have one every sailing.

Always have room service breakfast onboard... Its part of my routine... 😄

Late-is night with some drinks and socialising after late seating dinner, latest breakfast slot on the card, skip "lunch" and have afternoon tea instead, then late seating dinner again... And repeat...! 🙂

Always enjoyed it... LOVE Eggs Benedict, which is not on the menu, just write it on the card and it comes no problem! And TEA... Lots of TEA! 😄

In Queens Grill, we close the drape between the bedroom section and the living room section when we go to bed. Then, at the breakfast time we designated, the butler lets him/herself in, tiptoes to the table, sets it beautifully with tablecloth, silver, etc., then sneaks out, whispering "Good morning!" My wife and I then arise from bed, look at the butler's fine work, and give thanks for how lucky we are to be able to experience this.

Now, all you need is for the scullery maid to light a fire for you to warm up the suite too... 🙂  😉  😄

Sounds right up my street... One day... One day...

The American in me would feel the need to tip every  time food was delivered. Is this common or expected?

While we sailing on the QM2, we do show our appreciation for the efficient and professional way the room service order is taken.

And we also appreciate the quickness that the order is delivered to our room. Hot and complete all on one tray with all the condiments we requested to accompany the order.

They appreciate the tip as much as we appreciate the service. To each is own but it is a personal expression of the service.

Is the breakfast different if you book a Grill room?

I beleive the menu is slightly longer in the Grills, both room service and dining room. But, whatever your cabin, they seem very amenable if you add things that aren't printed.

If you want to, do... If you don't, don't.

I always give $2 for room service. Because its all very quick and always hot and what I asked for.

As someone travelling with a dog I was always up and about early, and surprised at just how many staff there were struggling along the long corridors with large breakfast trays for passengers for whom walking just a short distance to get breakfast appeared to be too much trouble.  I always hoped that they got good tips for their efforts.

I think that is a little unfair...

Personally, I am not a morning person. I don't want to mingle with people early in the day and like to take my time getting up, ready and dressed. Room service breakfast allows me to do that whilst still having something to eat and drink during the breakfast period.

Many people may have similar, or indeed very different reasons, for wishing to partake in a room service breakfast.
