Tried many, always return to the Embassy suites. A bit dated but great location, free cooked breakfast and evening free drinks cocktail hour...Lots of local restaurants but the on site food is fine and service great...You can also prebook early check in post cruise ($20 If I remember correctly). Whilst they won’t guarantee we haven’t been disappointed.

Depends what you are looking for. Location, large chain or boutique, cost. We stayed at the Pillars hotel in September which was fantastic.

That's where we will be in March.

Not sure if you have stayed there before but if not you won’t be disappointed. Fantastic staff and don’t miss breakfast overlooking the intercostal  waterway.

We choose Hyatt Place when we want to be in the 17th Street area (Kelly's Landing one of our favorite pre-cruise restaurants) or Riverside Hotel when we want to be on Las Olas Avenue.

We are currently at the Marriott Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach. Great location. No resort fee.  Winter rates are a little steep. Stayed here in October and paid $125/night.

Been staying here several years. Highly recommend.

The W Hotel Fort Lauderdale is across from the beach and has wonderful proximity to shops and the sun trolley . Shopping at the Galleria mall close by .

The Westin is a few doors down from here and is also a great hotel with the beach view .

We recently stayed at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas and loved it.  Water taxi right outside the hotel, could walk to lots of restaurants and shops.  CVS also within walking distance.  We will stay here again for our next cruise out of Fort Lauderdale.

Downtown Ft. Lauderdale is a fun place to be. The Riverside Hotel and Fairfield Inn are right in the middle of the Las Olas Blvd action. There are also new hotels Element and Dalmar in the neighborhood.

I just stayed at The Riverside---3rd time staying there over the years. Love it:classic_smile:....and sailing again in April

and after looking at some other hotels, the price on the Riverside is fabulous so will be staying

there again...prices drop for April and the room is less than 150.00....really good rate!

Is there anywhere near the ES to get 12-packs of soda and wine, and other stuff?

Yes, there is a Publix right behind the hotel in the Harbor Shops.

Total Wine is in the same set of shops as Publix and offers a MUCH WIDER variety of wines than any grocery store.

Don't disagree with you but I forgot Total Wine was there..:classic_biggrin:..that is why  I didn't mention it.

If they are looking for other "stuff" Publix carries lots of things besides "groceries".

Publix has a great travel product section. FYI TJMAXX is also in the shopping center. It came in handy when our flight was late AND they lost all of our daughter-in-laws luggage.  Have a great cruise.  Please share your experience at ES. We stayed there 3 years ago and had a terrible room and bath. The breakfast was beautiful and up to The standards other ES.  But since we are not big eaters we have not stayed there again. We love the area  so we stay  at HI and HP.  Both which we prefer over ES.

Yes, there is a CVS, Walgreens, and a Winn Dixie within a block. Also a whole plaza on the other side with a Publix. Total Wines and more....

Very Central!

Also, we sometimes travel with young adults, and the second room is perfect! There is a nice pool as well. We have stayed here many times, last of which was last July. We will be there again this year before our trip on the Equinox. Can't wait!!!
