Tony1878 Posted January 18, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2020 Just booked Paradise Islands cruise for December 2020, including Christmas Day. Has anyone cruised over Christmas before? does it differ a lot from a "normal" cruise? It will be our 1st time in the Caribbean, what do you recommend regarding excursions? Do your own thing or book through the ship?
greenbank1958 Posted January 23, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2020 A Christmas cruise is special, lots of decorations. Definitely has a festive feel. Regarding doing tours independently or with tui is your choice. If you book with tui and are running late the ship will wait for you. But if independent you are on your own. We have been to the Caribbean a few times, And it's so easy to find taxis at each port, so travelling independently Can be done. Do your research. And enjoy. msk1955 Posted January 24, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2020 We were on the Ancient Affair last year, departing on Christmas Day 2019 and returning on New Year's Day 2020. It certainly did feel very special. Decorations and Christmas trees everywhere, main dining room beautifully decorated on both Christmas Day and New Year's Eve - lots of people made an effort with black tie too. Pool party on deck to welcome in the new year. We had a great time.

Mrs Tony1878 goes to church and asked me if i could find out anything?
