Best Place to get Euros

We will be in Ireland in June. We start in Dublin. Where is the best ATM’s to get Euros using debit card.

Anyone attached physically to a bank, preferably inside the bank. The variations in exchange rate won't be noticeable. The hosting bank typically doesn't change any fees, only your home bank, if any.

Make sure you are getting charged in Euro’s. Do not choose to let the ATM do the conversion for you. This is called Dynamic Currency Conversion and is never to your advantage. Wherever in the world you withdraw money or make a creditcard payment, always make sure your card is charged in the local currency.

Yes - make sure you are charged in Euros! We always draw our foreign currency from bank ATMs whether we are in the UK or elsewhere in europe.

We have had a few instances reported on the local news where people have been charged in $US when the local currency was either Jamaican or Costa Rican. You look at the amount and it is correct, but when you get the bill it comes through as $US and is then converted to Canadian dollars. Just another thing to watch out for. (At first, the credit card companies refused to refund the money saying that it had been authorized with a PIN, but in both of the reported cases the TV consumer reporter managed to get them to change their minds.)

I pay too much in bank charges when I use an ATM overseas. In the UK, it is often the post office or certain department stores exchanges (Marks and Spencer) or Travelex desks which have the best rate - though Travelex has been having computer issues
