How about this...

Two named level in CAS.

D - - -

D - -

D -

D

D +

D + +

D + + +

P

New cruisers would be pre-D - - -

This way it's very easy for a D - - -, or D - -, or D - to scratch the minus off their card and sneak into the DL.

It can be an anytime venue or open to all happy hour venue, thats up to the cruise director and what entertainers they have at their disposal.

Viking Crown Lounges used to be used this way until RCI stopped scheduling entertainment there and then said "See, no one goes here..." and now you have VCL's on the big ships as Suites Lounges.

very cynical.... but probably true.

Coming to this thread late and haven’t read it all, but we were on a B2B on Enchantment three weeks ago and D+ were allowed in the CL so the exclusion doesn’t appear to me to be fleetwide.
P.S.  I’m a $1 per drink tipper and a $20 on the last night if I’m treated right.

D+ have been allowed in the CL for a long time now.  The issue is the shrinking number of ships that have a CL.

Oasis class don't have one, instead having a Suites lounge, open only to Suites and Pinnacles.

D+ are not allowed in CL on Anthem.

Royal created an exclusive venue by trampling on their signature feature.  100% of people on board used to be "good enough" to have access.  Now only about 5-10% have paid enough I suppose.

You may call it cynical, but I don't make the business decision and I don't white knight for corporations.

Just telling the truth and let people form their own opinions.  Of course people that spend 5-6 digits a year w Royal, and have little to no basis of contemporary comparison to other lines or other forms of vacation or travel, are going to be dismissive.  To them pointing out a truth like this is like calling their baby ugly.  They find it offensive.  It's not comforting to have someone point out how much has been reduced when you were feeling good about clicking payment for another 5 digit trip.  Human nature.

I agree with you.

The VCL 'was' the RCI signature, now being systematically transformed into an elitist venue and dispensed with completely on Quantum class.

I would actually like to see P+ and P++. P would be the new D+ in regards to access to the SL.

Where those levels are set or how, would be anyone’s guess.

In my opinion

P access to the SL isn't a problem except for specific elite heavy cruises like Presidents.  Simple fix is what they already are doing - limit P access to the SL when the numbers warrant it, just like they do for D+ access to the CL.

Blocking casino comps from SL would also be a possibility.

Are you referring to Masters level?

I was under impression they are a pretty rare breed. Plus do they ever leave the casino🤔

We have had those blue sea passes on other ships starting early last year but we have not had that same formatting of the information on the cards until our Mariner sailing earlier this month.  Maybe they are finally going to standardize how the sea pass cards look so it is easier for crew.
