Greetings from the SkyPrincess.  All I can say about this new Medallion stuff is wow.  We were onboard in about 20 minutes tops after entering the terminal. Room is nice.

More later.....😋😋😋

Bob

What time did they start the boarding process?

Frontier...Miami, FL leads me to believe you're on cellular.

Frontier, Miami is the target site. The fact that the provider is shown as o3b networks shows that he is using the ships satellite service. Those speeds look rather decent. Way better than I was getting on the Royal back in Nov on a MR cruise.

Good evening all from the Sky Princess as we sail towards Princess Cays.  Sail away was nice as we had a number of fellow cruisers to our cabin for a sail away get together.  It was great to see old cruising buddies once again.  Right now we are getting ready to meet some of them at Alfredos for dinner.

I must say that I was absolutely blown away with the ease of embarkation.  As I stated earlier we were onboard no more than twenty minutes after walking into the terminal.  Everyone that came to my cabin for sail away also stated that the embarkation was very smooth and quick.

That's all for now.  I'll post again when we get back from dinner to list the ship's officers.....

Hope all are well.....😊😊😊

Good evening from the Sky Princess (2147 local time).  Holli & I just returned to our cabin after dinner with a number of roll call friends in Alfredos.  The food and company were over the top great.  After dinner, Holli & I walked around the shops where she made a purchase from the fragrance store.  After returning to the cabin, I made a quick run to the World Fresh Market Place to get some of Holli's favorite cookies.  While Holli was shopping, I ducked into the Princess Theater for about five minutes and listened to a comedian's routine.  He was quite funny,

I'm typing this while sitting out on our balcony.  Sitting here at nighttime listening to the sounds of the ship gliding peacefully through the sea is my favorite part of a cruise; being at sea.

For tomorrow, I might get off at Princess Cays for a bit to walk around and take some pictures.  One neat perk of being in a full suite, has to do with tendering.  Suite passengers go to the suite lounge (basically right outside our cabin) where the concierge will then escort  you down to the tender area for priority tender boarding.  Holli isn't sure if she will get off as her back is bothering her at the moment.

As far as entertainment goes, there was live music in the Piazza with the Capriccio string quartet at 1645 & 1745.  At 1730 there was Jazz music with the Sky Show Band in the Take Five lounge.  They also did another show in the TFL at 1845.  At 1730 there was also an old Santana concert (2011) on MUTS.  At 1900 & 2145 the movie Yesterday was also shown on MUTS.  In the Princess Theater there was comedian Steve Caouette at 1830 & 2030.  At 1830 guitarist Arthur Kivilaht at the Crown Grill lounge.   The Larry Morgan Trio performed in the Piazza at 1900 & 2000.  My entertainment listings are not complete but I will be uploading all of the patters for both cruises to my Flickr page when we get home.

The ship officers are as follows:

Captain Michele Tuvo

Staff Captain Giovanni Cardile

Hotel general Manager Richard Harry

Entertainment Director David Pitchfork

Cruise Director Alexander Yepremian

Senior Doctor Mark Mason

Assistant Hotel General Manager Renier van Rooyen

Food & Beverage Director Roman Moser

Guest Services Director Goncalo Martins

Staff Engineer Officer Vladimir Veljesovski

Chief Electircal Officer Alan Harmston

Executive Housekeeper Vitor Da Silva

Executive Chef Guido Jendrytzko

Matire d'Hotel Giuseppe Gelmini

Business & Band Director Amrish Bhat

That's all for now.

Hope all are well.....😊😊😊

An early good afternoon (1230 pst) from the Sky Princess.   We are currently tendered off of Princess Cays.  I took the above picture as I was headed back to the ship.  While ashore, I just walked around and took a number of pictures.  I also had a sampling of the local beer and bought a few souvenirs for people back home.  This was my first time to Princess Cays.  If like laying out in the sun, you will like this place.  I gave up my sun days long ago so I only stayed onshore a little over an hour.

A little later this afternoon, Holli and I will meet up with some fiends at the PES Happy Hour.  We will probably play a few games of LCR so I gotta run to passenger services and grab some one dollar bills.

For dinner tonight, Holli & I plan to enjoy Sabatinis.  I really enjoyed the new menu/style on the Star in 2018 so I am very much looking forward to once again dining there.

Before getting off the ship today, I went down and sw the doctor about my mishap from Friday.  Luckily nothing is broken.  I just have a very severe bruise.  Kinda a bummer as usually at this time, I'd be in the gym.  In my current state however, that definitely is not going to happen.

One more thing I'd like to mention is the ship's Medallion Net internet service.  While it is definitely better than the internet of old, it is certainly not living up to the hype.  The internet we experienced (also Medallion) on the Ruby (March 2019) was blazing fast.

That's all for now.

Hope all are well.....😊😊😊

We enjoyed Sabatini's on the TA, but I caution you about the tiramisu. The one I was presented was highly styled and tasted nothing like traditional tiramisu.  I suggest you inquire before ordering.

I was not impressed with Medallion Net during my time on the Sky. They kept spewing oh it’s the TA, oh it will get better in the Caribbean. blah blah blah

I was totally spoiled on the CB in August 2018.

None of the ships I have cruised since have even come close to that experience.

If I'm not mistaken, I seem to remember that you were on the Regal before we were in early 2019 ~ if so, how did the Sky's Medallion Net compare to the Regal's? I thought the Regal's was pretty good (compared to what I had experienced in the past) but if the Sky is much worse I may rethink getting it on our March 7th cruise. Reports thus far have not been very good.

I guess I would rate it below the CB but above the Sky.
On the Regal if I remember correctly it was disconnecting quite often.
But the Sky it was disconnecting much more.....multiple times a day and very very slow

colo - is that because there were fewer people trying to access at the same time ? location ? or something Princess controls ?

Well from what I have been told on at least 3 MedallionNet ships now the amount of people should not make a difference. However when I posted that tidbit I was quickly admonished by another poster that those are lies told by Princess because that’s what I wanted to hear.🤔

A lot depends on cabin location.  We were able to watch recorded programs on our TiVo at home on an iPad while at sea on the Sky TA.
