Arlecchino Hotel or Hotel Olimpia in Venice?

We have stayed at Olimpia and at the new AC Hotel by Marriott, across from the people mover on Piazalle Roma. AC is more modern than Olimpia and no bridge to cross, although the bridge to Olimpia is small. Would recommend both. For either book early as the prices tend to go up closer to arrival.

Venice is very small.

You can walk from this area ( Piazzale Roma ) to St Marks in less than 40 minutes, or take a water bus, or water taxi.  There are maps posted in the link above.

People choose hotels in this area because it's close to the cruise port and you don't have to carry luggage over bridges to get to your hotel.  Once they're free of their luggage they'll walk 2 blocks to the Grand Canal and catch a water bus.

We stayed at Arrlechino a few years ago and it was very good.  It is a small, comfortable hotel, right at the beginning of Venice proper, so you have just one small bridge to manage with your bag, and you are close to the transportation hub in case you go further a field. The room was interesting, cozy, and the bed was good.  The staff were very nice.  In the morning they served a European breakfast that was super good, beautiful meats, cheeses, breads and specialty coffee in civilized sizes.  I'm not sure if we paid a fee for the breakfast.
