San Jaun - Marriott or Intercontinental

Hi -

 

We are looking to stay 1 night in San Jaun during the summertime - the pool is more important than the beach. We will probably go into Old Town for a couple of hours or maybe in the evening. Does anyone have a preference - the Marriott or Intercontental? All comments welcome. Thx!

We stayed at the Marriott in late October and loved it. The rooms were nice and the beds were very comfortable. You can either catch a bus or a taxi into Old San Juan. We were so tired from our flight (red eye) and it was raining that we just stayed around the hotel.

Hi, I have stayed at both with my husband but really prefer the Intercontinental over the Marriott.

When in SJU we prefer the Intercontinental or the Ritz.

Marriott, Courtyard is opening a new hotel in San Juan. It opens this March. Only 5 or 8 Miles from the Airport and has a out door pool. Check out the web site.

 

We are staying one night towards the end of the month (march).... I guess it will be smelling nice and new!

I cannot compare the two but we just stayed two nights precruise at the Intercontinental in January and Loved it! I mean it was great. the pool is endless. the pool wraps around throughout the property and it has a huge hot tub. the sign reads "not more than 20 people" (for the hot tub) but I swear it is like a pool itself and you can fit in a lot more than 20 people. We really enjoyed this hoetl and will being going back there just to stay in the hotel and enjoy the amenities and the area of osj and isla verde.
