Lol!! If we win the lottery!😻💞😻

Karen

Karen and John:  no worries. If I hit the lottery, I will pay for your cruise and (and all your booze) so you guys can come with us.  Still debating about pulling the trigger and swapping cruises.  Although The Boss is 80 percent convinced, she thinks I’m more of a nut case than she bargained for since I’m always wanting to switch cruises.  I will discuss it with our TA this week and let you know. DO IT!!!

Rich:  thanks for posting the pics on Seville as well as others contributing to this thread. El Alcazar is on my Iberian bucket list as well as the Camino De Santiago. If you recall, The Boss and I were not able to do the Seville tour in Nov 16 when we were all on the Explorer’s TA due to both of us getting very sick. Consequently, we missed all the Spanish ports except for Malaga.
Does the Splendor have an infinity pool like the Explorer?  How is the chow onboard?  We need food porn.
Hammie: homework for you:  food porn pics during your Panama Canal cruise!
All of the comments about the Splendor and the wonderful time all are having has us contemplating cancelling an Oct cruise and booking the nine day Splendor cruise departing Miami on 28 Nov!  Karen and John better book this, too.

Enjoy the rest of the cruise and peg the fun meter!

Z and TB

Come join us on the TA from Barcelona on Splendor in November.

We were out and about Barcelona today—19,998 steps’ worth!  It was great walking weather, sunny and in the low ‘60s.  “Like spring,” Josep, our genial veteran guide, enthused.

We spent the first half of our day with Josep, on his “Private Gourmet Foodie Exclusive, Tour,” which included a leisurely walk through La Boqueria, the most famous of Barcelona’s 42 food markets, and some tapas/snacks grazing.  For dessert we toured the medieval Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, popularly known as Barcelona Cathedral.  The cathedral has the distinction of being “all original inside,” according to Josep.  “Never bombed, never a fire.”

Rich

We are very interested in your guide Josep. Please share information with us. We will be in Barcelona in November. Email to me. Bubbema at aol dot com. Thanks. Enjoy your time on Splendor. Looking so forward to boarding her in one month.
hugs

A quick question or two... Are you in an F Category cabin?  I apologize if you mentioned this earlier and I missed it.

Also, I thought the Bump balconies were Bigger, not smaller.  We are in one in 2021 on Explorer (F-2).  It looks like there is more space as it angles out on the bump.  Is that not correct (we can still move it)?

Thanks.  Love you pics and review.

Bump balconies are bigger  than the other balconies. However, if at beginning/end of bump one end is angled back to the adjoining balcony therefore losing some of the extra space compared to if no angle.

Really liking this new list of 🍸 cocktails and choices of Gin. Sounds like Fever Tree Tonics too?  The food photos are just so tempting too.  Thanks, Jean.

Gerry, Captain Serena confirmed to me she will be leaving the Splendor on February 25.  She spent seven months in 2019 in Ancona, with only two one-week breaks, so, yep, she needs a break.  She’ll return to her beloved Splendor in mid-May

pleased to hear this. We sail on the Splendor on 16th June. We sailed with captain Serena on the Explorer last summer. Really enjoying following along on the blog

victoria81, thank you for posting the new drink menu.

Are these menus only available in Meridian Lounge, or shipwide?

Funchal tomorrow ?   You and Ginny know it well.   Where do you plan to go?

We’re moving on from toboggans to tea, Gerry.  We’re on the morning “Tea at Reid’s” excursion, which also includes a photo stop at the cliffs of Cabo Girao and a visit to the village of Camara de Lobos.  This is about our speed after our 20,000-step Seville excursion!

I do, crusin, and you will, too, very soon.  I’ve been asked (very nicely) if I wouldn’t mind letting Miami make the announcement.

I do have other Captain news to share:  Daniel Green has left Regent and is now working as a port pilot back home in Sweden.  We last cruised with the wonderful Captain Green in the early spring of 2019, when he had his young family onboard.  I am guessing his new job has everything to do with his wanting to be closer to his loved ones.

Tea at Reid's is one of my all time favorite teas - the scenery and view are breathtaking. Just be forewarned that there is a dress code that when I went passengers were not made away of - same dress code as after 6:00pm on the ship - no shorts allowed. Bring your appetite - the scones and sandwiches were delightful - enjoy!

We love Captain Green - sorry to see him go but can fully understand wanting to be near his family, we cruised a number of times with him and his is a great captain and so personable

We sailed with Captain Green as staff captain and on his first command on an Amazon cruise, great guy, sorry to see him leave Regent but understand his wanting to spend more time with his family.

You on the next Splendor cruises should have a "perfect" ship. I can understand why Captain Serena gave her Staff such an emotional thanks at the Captain's Reception. I'm amazed at how well and quickly they readied this new ship in a few months. Lots of small things still being "fixed". Yesterday, we had 2 visits from craftsmen to fix things that we didn't know had to be fixed!

I'm so fickle; after only a few days, Splendor has replaced Explorer as my favorite ship. Anxious for August to see Splendor itineraries for late 22'.

Happy to see that the spelling mistake in "Bonne Soirée" has been fixed!  Personally I think I shall be trying the ginger one...sounds lovely and they are all very creative.

Rich - you said "I do have other Captain news to share:  Daniel Green has left Regent and is now working as a port pilot back home in Sweden.  We last cruised with the wonderful Captain Green in the early spring of 2019, when he had his young family onboard.  I am guessing his new job has everything to do with his wanting to be closer to his loved ones."

Dan Green is a lovely lovely man.  We first sailed with him when he was Staff Captain on the Navigator and then on another cruise, the captain (don't remember the ship).  It is a big loss to Regent but clearly a huge gain for his family!

Hope you enjoy your Tea at Reids.   I have been to Madeira perhaps 5 times (first in 1952) and have never managed to get to Reids.  I hear the atmosphere there is very like at Raffles in Singapore.   Hope you will have some photos to share!
