Long Beach options with a 6 yr old

I'm a California native with no desire to deal with LA area traffic on a short shore day. So I was looking at beaches in the area. I cannot use uber as A won't have her car seat.  Is there a local bus that can get us to a beach? Can we walk to anything in the area? WWYD? 

 

FWIW: Using trolley in San Diego, walking in Santa Barbara & Ensenada.  Just stuck on Long Beach

You can use the Passport Shuttle to Downtown Long Beach and go to Alamitos Beach (click link for map) or once in DTLB, ride a Long Beach bus to Belmont Shore by the pier.

Sounds great! But when I goggle Long Beach port & Princess it says I'm going to San Pedro? Which is it? If LB then Waterfront Park and Alamitos Beach. If San Pedro then I guess I'm stuck on a ship's tour 😔

Princess docks in San Pedro. Only Carnival uses Long Beach.

I was hoping the itinerary, which says Long Beach, was correct but I kind of doubted it. Ah well back to researching that stop

Princess only embarks and debarks from LA (San Pedro). They DO have some cruises that stop at Long Beach as a port stop instead of stopping at San Pedro. Do double check and get back.
