Chefs Table by Daniel Boloud

Was looking at doing the Chefs Table dinner on our upcoming sailing on the Eclipse but they have it scheduled at 5:30 on the first night.

Seems very odd to me considering we leave at 6:30 and would be right around the time we would have the muster drill.

Does anyone know if they ever add extra evenings?

Ours is at 5.30pm on a Port where we only arrive at 1pm so people won’t be around before 7pm with a 9pm sail out. Someone contacted Celebrity and they say it’s just a placeholder. Also found out that even with the premium package that drink pairing is extra.

The chefs table is held on a sea day starting at 7:00 PM with champagne and hors d'oeuvres, then a tour of the kitchen followed by dinner in the Murano cellar (private dinning room.)  The wine parring is an extra $60.00 per person making the dinner $398 per couple which is a little steep for the dinner which in my opinion is ok but not exceptional.  The best thing about the dinner is the people you meet.  We have been to the chefs table on every celebrity cruise and have only had one bad experience with out table mates.  The best items of the dinner are the mushroom risotto and the short ribs. Be prepared to lug a 10 pound cook book home with you.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone know if they accommodate dietary restrictions?

I’m allergic to shellfish.

I'd be amazed if they didn't.  Just let them know in advance.  We've not done a chef's table  - we were going to on the upcoming baltic cruise following a chef's excusion to a food market only to find in the small print that no food bought on land can be brought on board so the chef's table will have nothing to do with the local food anyway!  But we often have invites to a Captain or Senior Officer's table and they have always accomodated table mates with dietary restrictions.  Usually as long as you let them know in advance X is very accoodating food wise.
