Water

Recommended Posts

I should be grateful if somebody could clarify the situation regarding the water on Explorer. I am a bit concerned to see references to a carafe in the cabin which has to be filled at a water station in the corridor. What is that about? We have always used the tap water from our cabin bathroom on other cruises, since it is the same water as served in the restaurants. Is the tap water on Explorer not drinkable? Seems a pain to have to fetch water to fill the kettle!

We like the water dispensers, we fill the kettle from the tap but always fill the carafe from the dispenser as the water is very cold. It's really not a pain as there are several dispensers on each deck corridor.  We also use the carafe to fill our water bottles to take ashore.   Much better than purchasing plastic bottles.

Hi. The water on the ship is from a storage tank as opposed to the water at home which is from a flowing supply so sometimes it has a taint to it but it is fine for the kettle. The water coolers usually have a filtering system installed in them so it tastes a lot better to drink straight out.

If you do upgrade to the premium drinks package you have bottled water in your cabin. 👍

Thanks, but we won’t be upgrading. We can just pay the extra as we go along if need be. Cheaper that way. We won’t really need much bottled water, it is unlikely to be very hot.
