Slyfox16 Posted February 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2020 We want to do a Panama Canal cruise in 2021. Would appreciate any guidance as to what is the best time of year to go. Thanks
BillB48 Posted February 4, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2020 IMO January and most of February is the best time of year. By then the Dry Season is in place with the temps and humidity are the best you can expect. The foliage will be at its greenest as well. I would only use this as tie breaker as there is not a huge difference in the weather at other times of the Canal cruise "season." The biggest variable in weather is the chance of rain, of course the least chance of rain is in the Dry Season which runs from late December through April. CruiserBruce Posted February 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2020 Keep in mind, Canal cruises are October to early May. We have been through in November, December, April and May. December was torrential rain for about 4 hours, followed by very high humidity. Otherwise, all were warm, and on the humid side.
cb at sea Posted March 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2020 It's ALWAYS HOT and HUMID there...you are only about 8 degrees off the equator. HOT all the time.
